1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SmoothCN ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

SmoothCN is an AI-powered toolkit designed to help foreigners navigate life in China. The Service includes AI conversation (China Buddy), real-time translation (Face to Face), photo translation (Smart Camera), survival phrase cards, AI tour guide, and a community platform. The Service is provided as a Progressive Web App (PWA) accessible via web browsers.

3. User Accounts

To use certain features, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and password. You are responsible for:

Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
All activities that occur under your account
Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
Post offensive, harmful, or misleading content in the community
Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the Service
Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the Service
Impersonate other users or entities

5. AI-Generated Content

SmoothCN uses artificial intelligence to provide translations, answers, and recommendations. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors. The Service should not be relied upon for medical, legal, or emergency decisions. Always verify critical information with official sources.

6. Community Guidelines

Content posted in the Explore community must be respectful, relevant, and lawful. We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these guidelines without prior notice.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and technology of SmoothCN are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

SmoothCN is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to inaccurate translations, navigation errors, or service interruptions.

9. Modifications

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Subscription and Payments

Certain features of the Service may require a paid subscription. Subscription terms, pricing, and billing cycles will be clearly presented before purchase. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, but provisions that by their nature should survive (such as limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to the courts of Hong Kong for resolution.
